The photo should be framed and angled in the same way as the paintings in our gallery. Ideally, photos will be from neck to knee but we can crop them if that’s not possible. Here’s how to take your photo:

• Get someone you trust to take it for you
• Use the self-timer on your phone
• Take a selfie - we can paint your arm straight and remove the phone as long as your arm or phone doesn’t cross over your body

Please note that all submitted photos must be fully nude. We are happy to edit out tattoos that may give away your identity, but otherwise, your body will be painted exactly how it looks.

We also ask our participants to write a short paragraph about their bodies. This text will be used as the caption for your painting. Your caption will be edited for length, spelling, and grammar where required and may also be translated into other languages.

*We are not accepting submissions of cis male bodies at this time.

Your privacy is extremely important to us and all of our participants remain completely anonymous unless they ask to be tagged in their painting on Instagram.

All submitted photos are stored in a private drive and are deleted as soon as the painting is complete. Photos are never shared with anyone other than Sophie and Cecy (the team behind Normal Bodies) and we use all reasonable precautions to protect your anonymity.

No data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.

Once submitted, all uploaded images, paintings, and captions become the sole intellectual property of Normal Bodies.

We reserve the right to use the images/text as we deem appropriate, including prints of any kind in any media, merchandise, publications, books, social media, and any other media now known or created in the future.

By submitting, you avow that you are over 18 and agree to the use of your image. If you claim to be over 18 but are not, the legal consequences of this sit solely with you.
